Dear families,
As we approach the end of another term it is hard to believe we are two thirds the way through the school year! This week, the Junior school had the hardest test of all of tests – an Ofsted inspection. We will let you know the result of that visit as soon as we are able to. Now we will wait for the Infant school to get ‘the call’ and that should come before the end of this calendar year. I would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the school. The St Joseph’s community is very special and we should never forget that and this term, we are saying goodbye to two people who have been very central in creating this ethos.
Mrs Quigley
It is with great regret that I write to say Mrs Quigley is retiring. She has worked at St Joseph’s for 21 years firstly as a TA and then as Learning Mentor. Her work with children and families has been second to none and she has dedicated most of her work life to the Infant school. Mrs Quigley can be found most days on the Infant entrance gate chivvying the children into school and welcoming families with her wonderful smile and her kind words. We will miss her love and unwavering support terribly but we hope she has a wonderful, well-deserved retirement. We send our love to her and her family. Hopefully, she will have lots of time to come back and see us!
We are also saying goodbye to Mrs Marsh who has worked in our school office for 9 years. Mrs Marsh is going to go back to college and study Psychology so she can fulfil her dream of becoming an Educational Psychologist. Mrs Marsh embodies what we are trying to teach the children – work hard and never give up on your dreams! We will miss Mrs Marsh enormously but wish her and her family every success for the future.
Year 5 Easter Production
Yesterday Year 5 gave the most touching performance of the Easter Story. Thank you to everyone involved - especially the children. It is very emotional when you watch the story performed by children and it really brings the Easter Message home - He died on the cross to save our souls.
We are so very lucky!
