Newsletter - 19th December 2014

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are at the end of the Autumn Term and Christmas is fast approaching. This term has been one of hard work, commitment and dedication from everyone.  Thank you to everyone who makes our school a success.

Infant Nativity – “It’s a Baby!”

We have had some wonderful performances this week. The Infant Nativity play was fabulous.  The children sang their hearts out, danced freely, spoke so clearly and looked gorgeous in their costumes! Thank you all for making it so special for them.  There will be a DVD of the infant production available so thank you for not filming/photographing the children. Thank you to all involved class teachers and support staff, Ms Stalker and Ms Ros for the music and singing practice and thank you to Mr Smith and Mr Gibb for filming.

Year 4 Nativity – Angels Up High

This was an absolute joy to watch!  Funny, quirky (loved those sheep!) and full of spirit. The Christmas message was truly delivered. Thank you to everyone involved especially the Year 4 teachers, Mrs Mokogwu and Mrs Kilbey, the support staff

and Ms Ros and Ms Stalker.

Choir – Musical Evening

Our choirs sang at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday night along with 7 other schools. Bishop Pat Lynch was in attendance.  I know that this was the first of many such evenings and there will be more to follow.  The choirs were amazing.  The church was filled with the voice of the Lord and we could feel His presence.  Again the children were a credit to the school and to you as parents.  My special thanks go to Ms Ros and Ms Stalker who have worked so hard to ensure singing is a success!  Well done everyone!

Year 1 Blue Class

We thank Ms Sally Beishon for her hard work with Blue Class this term and welcome Ms Kate Ferman who arrives in January.

Christmas Card Competition

Well done to Oliver in Year 3 whose card was chosen by the Education Commission as their Christmas card this year.  This card will be sent to people and organisations all over the world!

For those we know who are ill or suffering sorrow at this time

We pray to the Holy Spirit for anyone in our community who is suffering through illness, bereavement or hardship at this time and we wish them peace of mind and to know they are especially remembered.

Return to School

School re-opens on Tuesday 6th January 2015 at their normal times.  Please ensure your child is in the playground ready to line up when the bell sounds (start as we mean to continue).  Important teaching time is lost through lateness and classes are disrupted when children arrive late.

Christmas Safety

Be safe this Christmas.  Be mindful of accidents that can happen in the home and on the roads. Please take care of yourselves.

Reflection

‘God our Father, your son became a human being and lived among us.  We pause to remind ourselves that he is with us now’

May the love and peace of the Lord look after you all this Christmas.
