Dear Parents and Carers

Parents Evenings

Thank you for attending your child’s parents evening.  It is extremely important to keep the communication with your child’s teacher.  Please try to follow their advice and if you are unsure about anything to do with your child’s learning please ask someone at school for further support and advice.

First Holy Communion

Our First Holy Communion sessions are going very well.  We’d like to thank the children for being so responsive and parents for working with their children at home.  You are the children’s prime educators. What they learn in terms of the Faith they learn from you first. The children have homework to do over half term and the books need to be back for the next session.  Please don’t forget our next parent meeting is on Thursday 2nd March Preparation for Reconciliation at 6pm Sacred Heart.

Maths Week

This week we have investigated, problem-solved, cooked, presented, read about, thought about, drawn, shared MATHS!  Maths week is always such fun. Maths equipment has been on sale and the children have raised money for the school from their cake sales.

On Monday, Year 6 saw a production of ‘Annie’ at Sacred Heart – they absolutely loved it! A very big thank you to all the staff and children of Sacred Heart for letting us come to watch.

This week, Year 1 went to the Royal Festival Hall to join in with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to perform ‘the Giddy Goat’ with a musical accompaniment and the children have been working on this since the beginning of term. Please ask them to sing you the songs they have learnt.

Book week begins on Monday 27th February 2017 and World Book Day is Thursday March 2nd. Make sure you read the extreme reading letter going home today and join in the fun! Remember the deadline to return the photos is Tuesday 21st February.

Year 4, 5 & 6 got to play ‘Tag Rugby’ at Burgess Park.  It was cold and somewhat muddy but I think the children enjoyed themselves. I hope your washing machines didn’t suffer too much because of it. There are sporting as well as life skills that can be learnt as part of a competitive team sport. There will be more sporting events in the near future!
