Class 4B eating Cacao nibs

Class 4B have been studying the Mayan Civilization this term. We have learned many interesting facts including the fact that the Maya people used cacao nibbs as currency. Did you know that cacao was so precious that only thye noble men and women could afford to buy cacao? They would mix it with water and chilli or honey to make a drink. Our teacher gave use some cacao nibs to try, they smelled delicious and chocolatey BUT when we ate them they tasted really bitter! Not many of us were fans.
